Dunlop FX 125 Squash Racket 2026/2027

The latest version of Dunlop’s premium power squash racket – engineered for explosive shots, rapid reactions and exceptional manoeuvrability.

The Dunlop FX 125 2026/2027 is the latest generation of Dunlop’s premium FX power squash racket series, designed for players who want to dominate rallies with speed, precision and attacking power. Combining a lightweight graphite frame with an extra head-light balance and advanced performance technologies, this racket delivers an outstanding combination of fast handling, responsive feel and powerful shot-making.

Developed for ambitious intermediate and advanced players, the FX 125 is particularly well suited to an attacking style of play, where quick preparation, sharp reactions and the ability to generate pace under pressure are essential.

Graphite Frame – Lightweight Strength and Responsiveness

The FX 125 features a graphite frame weighing 125 g (unstrung), providing the strength and responsiveness required for competitive squash. Its lightweight construction allows players to accelerate the racket quickly, react to sudden changes in direction and prepare their shots with minimal delay.

The graphite construction is complemented by Dunlop’s thicker Aero Beam profile, which is designed to support power and stability while maintaining efficient movement through the air.

The result is a racket that helps aggressive players generate fast, penetrating drives and attacking volleys without sacrificing the speed needed for demanding exchanges. Players who rely on quick hands, deceptive shots and rapid transitions between defence and attack will particularly appreciate its agile feel.

Extra Head-Light Balance – Maximum Manoeuvrability

One of the defining characteristics of the Dunlop FX 125 is its extra head-light balance. With less of the racket's perceived weight towards the head, the frame feels exceptionally quick and easy to manoeuvre.

This balance offers several important advantages on court:

  • For attacking players: Faster racket preparation helps create opportunities for aggressive volleys, counter-attacks and sharp finishing shots.
  • For tactical players: The quick response makes it easier to disguise shots, change direction at the last moment and vary pace to disrupt an opponent's rhythm.
  • For defensive players: Rapid racket movement supports quick reactions when retrieving tight shots and recovering from difficult positions.
  • For competitive players: The combination of a lightweight frame and extra head-light balance helps maintain racket speed during long, high-intensity rallies.

Although the racket is designed to support powerful play, its easy handling makes it more versatile than a traditional, head-heavy power racket. Players can focus on generating power through racket-head speed, timing and technique rather than relying solely on the weight of the frame.

Advanced Dunlop Technologies

Sonic Core with Infinergy®

Positioned in the racket head at the 2 and 10 o'clock positions, Sonic Core with Infinergy® enhances rebound performance and helps reduce unwanted vibrations. This technology supports lively ball response, improved comfort and a more forgiving feel on off-centre hits.

For attacking players, it helps maintain ball speed and penetration. For players who value consistency, the additional comfort and vibration reduction can make demanding sessions feel more comfortable.

Vibroshield

The integrated Vibroshield anti-vibration technology helps absorb unwanted impact vibrations, delivering a smoother and more comfortable hitting sensation. This is particularly beneficial for players who spend many hours on court or prefer a less harsh feel at ball impact.

V-Energy Shaft

The V-Energy Shaft features a specially designed shaft profile that promotes flex and an effective transfer of energy into the ball. It supports a firm, responsive hitting sensation and helps players produce powerful drives and attacking shots.

Thicker Aero Beam Construction

The thicker Aero Beam profile is designed to combine power and stability with efficient racket movement. It complements the FX 125's lightweight frame, helping players strike the ball with confidence while retaining the agility required for fast-paced squash.

Large 500 cm² Head – Power and Forgiveness

The racket features a 500 cm² (77.5 in²) teardrop-shaped head, providing a generous hitting area and supporting powerful shot-making. The head design helps create an effective sweet spot, giving players a better chance of producing consistent shots when contact is not perfectly centred.

The open 14 × 18 string pattern contributes to a lively, responsive string bed that supports pace and feel.

Together, these features make the FX 125 a compelling choice for players who want to attack from the back of the court, take the ball early and finish rallies decisively at the front.

Who Is the Dunlop FX 125 Best For?

  • Aggressive attacking players: Benefit from rapid racket acceleration, explosive shot-making and quick preparation for volleys and counter-attacks.
  • All-court players: Gain a versatile combination of power, responsiveness and manoeuvrability for moving between defensive retrievals and attacking opportunities.
  • Technically skilled players: Can take advantage of the extra head-light balance to generate racket-head speed, vary shot selection and disguise their intentions.
  • Intermediate players developing an attacking game: Can benefit from the lightweight frame and fast handling, although the racket rewards good timing and technique.
  • Advanced and competitive players: Can exploit the racket's speed and responsive feel to maintain pressure during intense rallies and create openings with aggressive shot placement.

Players who strongly prefer a heavier, head-heavy feel may find the FX 125 less natural, as its design prioritises speed and manoeuvrability over a weight-driven sensation of power.

As a squash player, there are a few details you need to be aware of when faced with having to invest in new squash equipment.

Your squash racket can help you strengthen your weaknesses in your game once the basic technique is in place.

There are 3 points you need to consider regarding your new squash racket.

1. Geometry
2. Weight
3. Material

Geometry is about the design of the squash racket. A squash racket with a teardrop-shaped head has different properties than a squash racket with an elongated head.

When you have to choose your new squash racket, there are primarily 2 extremes in the geometry you can choose from, namely the control squash racket and the power squash racket. In between, a hybrid has been developed that unites the properties.

Examples of control squash rackets: Tecnifibre Suprem, Dunlop Precision Ultimate Zateq Superiour 130.

Examples of power squash rackets: Head Graphene Cyano, Wilson Tempest Lite, Dunlop Revelation and Zateq X-Power.

Examples of hybrid squash rackets: Dunlop Evolution, Wilson Ripper, Zateq Conqueror.

A control squash racket is characterized by the closed neck, which provides a pronounced torsional stability. At the same time, the ratio between the longitudinal and transverse strings is small, which means less trampoline effect, and thus a more precise departure angle at hits. A control squash racket will typically be a choice for the player who is looking against the technical game and who appreciates being able to place the ball accurately.

A power squash racket is characterized in that the ratio between the longitudinal strands and the transverse strands is greater. It is designed with a teardrop-shaped head where the neck is open. This allows for longer main strings, the longitudinal strings, often called "mains" (main strings). Longer strings provide more trampoline effect and thus more power. At the same time, the construction means that the torsional stability around the head is less than with the closed neck. However, the longer strings provide an increased sweetspot, which for most models means that forgiveness is higher for mishits. The power racket will be a natural choice for the player who has a more offensive style of play and who wants to push the opponent against the back wall.

The hybrid squash racket is a mixture that is constructed with a closed neck, however designed so that the strings are as long as possible. This means that a sensible compromise can be reached between power and control.

The weight of the squash racket is related to your playing style. If you are an aggressive squash player who wants to hit hard, or you are a newer squash player with a slower turn, then a heavier and head-heavy squash racket will be preferable. This will help you send the ball down to the wall, and keep your opponent busy.

If you are a squash player with a good technique, and are able to swing fast without errors, then a lighter squash racket may be preferable.

The material is extremely important when it comes to the properties of your new squash racket. Aluminum is recommended for beginners who have just started squash, as the racket does not break so easily. However, you should expect poor game quality with a cheap Alu squash racket, compared to a pure fiber racket. Vibrations can be a problem for the aluminum frames, and many models do not have an actual shaft, but just 2 rods which are attached to a plastic handle. The price is cheap, and if you only want to use the racket a few times, it can be quite a sensible choice.

For little money you can buy a squash racket in full fiber, either a mix of glass and carbon or a pure carbon squash racket. Here you get a comfortable and good racket, where the playing quality is top notch. If you choose a squash racket in fiber with a weight of 150-160 grams, then the durability is significantly different when talking squash rackets for beginners, compared to the very light carbon rackets.
